David Sollars. The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Homeopathy. Indianapolis: Alpha Books/Penguin Group, 2001. Paperback, xviii + 317 pages.
The author, who is a homeopath and acupuncturist with more than sixteen years experience in the health-care field, also wrote The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Acupuncture and Acupressure. The present volume is a user-friendly introduction to all the essentials of homeopathy. It is presented in bite-size chunks and is full of instructive and encouraging anecdotes from the author’s homeopathic practice.
The layout of TheComplete Idiot’s Guide series does not lend itself to a material medica approach, and so anyone interested in a handy reference work covering remedies and symptoms will have to look elsewhere. However, David Sollars’ book easily can get newcomers to homeopathy hooked on this medical system. It includes all sorts of helpful resources, which allow the reader to take the next step.
